FYSHnet provides a vital network for an ever increasing number of second and third generation British Bangladeshis who are involved in or diversifying into “non-traditional” sectors and positioning themselves into the mainstream arena. Shihab Hossain, the Chairman of FYSHnet

comments: “Our community is thriving and makes an enormous contribution to the economy and to British society as a whole. FYSHnet felt that it was now time to build on some of the suc- cesses achieved, create opportunities to work together and to build stronger relationships within our community.”

The Birmingham event acted as a launch of FYSHnet’s presence in the region and of its web portal, www. fyshnet.co.uk, where like minded indi- viduals can network, socialise, pro- mote and support one another.
