more years of experience. He built his first homes in the 1980s and then became a project manager at a successful local builder for several years before restarting his own business. “We don’t build a lot of houses each year – perhaps four or five,” said JW.

“I

don’t have a staff of people. I’m the boss, the project co-ordinator and clean-up per- son.”

Of course, JW doesn’t do everything

himself. Through his years of experience, JW built relationships with several trade contractors. He knows the most reliable specialists and works with them closely to ensure that the craftsmanship meets clients’ high quality expectations. And JW’s wife Angie helps in the marketing, land acqui- sition and design, co-ordinating renova- tions and the start-up a new business, “We
