D
uchy Timber can offer a range of materials that are milled from timber grown in Devon and
Cornwall. They are manufactured to the highest environmental and quality standards. Our wood has the lowest possible carbon footprint. As well as being FSC accredited, which ensures our timber is from sustainable, managed woodland, it is locally sourced and manufactured. While most wood commercially available in the UK is grown in Eastern and Northern Europe and shipped thousands of miles, we use trees grown in the Westcountry. They are milled at a small-scale sawmill in Lostwithiel, Cornwall, and we manufacture our fencing materials on site, keeping our ‘wood miles’ to a minimum. We use Douglas fir, highly regarded for its superior strength, toughness and durability.
● Our state-of-the-art mill ensures the best timber is selected for each application. ● Each piece is manually checked by experienced sawyers before stacking. ● Each piece is kiln dried before treatment to ensure maximum penetration when pressure treating with the preservative Tanalith E. This process allows us to offer a 10-year guarantee against rot and a 15-year service life plus the promise of no unusable boards. ● The wood is checked before use and we give assembled fencing materials a final quality check.

We use local timber. We manufacture in the West Country to top environmental standards. Beware cheap imports. Our quality products are built to last with a 10 year guarantee and heavyweight construction. Beware flimsy products that won’t last a year!
