HERE at Pengelly Plant Centre, near Hewaswater, St. Austell spring is in the air and we are all very excited. A project we have been working hard on through the winter is now complete and opening to the public at the beginning of April. Sadly two years ago the decision was taken to close the big perennial tunnel, the flooring was like a skating ring and it was a health and safety nightmare.We thought we'd be able to buy the plants in and sell them from our existing covered sales area. Little did we realise how much you
would miss wandering in the tunnel and how much we would miss growing them! Della, Wendy, James and Johnathon have shovelled tonnes of grit and laid metres of ground cover material to sort out the flooring problems.We've then all been potting like mad to bring you a wonderful selection of perennial plants which will make even the most hardened shrub buyer go weak at the knees! Don't worry if you are overcome by the won- drous sight of all these plants we can offer you an Italian coffee or Tregothnan Tea on the house!
