Saturday, April 10
American Legion Post #100, 8 Windham Road, Pelham, will host a Soup and Chili Contest from 2-4 p.m. There is a small entry fee, as well as a sampling/judging fee. There will also be a 50/50 Raffle. For more information, call Sherry at 479-4440.
Sunday, April 11
Salem Family Resources will host a Tot to
Teen Fashion Show and Tea from 1-3 p.m.
at the Searles Castle, 21 Searles Road, Windham. This first annual event will feature local children ranging from toddler to teen. Light refreshments will be served. A silent auction will take place at the event. All proceeds will benefit family support programs of Salem Family Resources-Success By 6. For information, contact director Cindy Jury at 898-5493.
A STYLES & S.M.I.L.E.S Breast Cancer Charity Fashion Show and Raffle will
be held at 2 p.m. in the Windham High School Theatre. The event will feature: students and adult models presenting spring boutique and formal clothing from several well-known clothing stores; hair designs; delightful refreshments; coffee samples and beverages; a wide variety of raffles and prizes; a hilarious “Pink Project Runway” competition; live and recorded music; and a student-produced video. There will also be representatives on hand from the national Avon Breast Cancer Foundation. Limited tickets will also be sold at the door. All proceeds benefit Avon Breast Cancer Foundation.

Visit the American Red Cross blood drive
at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, 12 Main Street, Pelham. Donor hours are from 3-8 p.m., and all blood types are needed. All presenting donors will receive an American Red Cross reusable grocery bag.
Friday, April 16
The First Congregational Church, 3 Main Street, Pelham, will hold a free Community Spaghetti Supper from 5:45-7 p.m., including dinner, dessert, and a movie. The dinner is open to all who wish to attend. For more information, please contact the church office at 635-7025.
Saturday, April 17
In 2008, the Cobbett’s Pond Improvement Association received a grant to develop a
Watershed Restoration Plan. On Saturday,
April 17, at 9 a.m. at the Windham Town Hall, Geosyntec, the environmental consulting firm that has partnered with the CPIA to manage the project, will be presenting their findings. The Project Manager will answer questions from attendees, and solicit public input that will be essential for finalizing the watershed restoration plan. The presentation will include information on lake and tributary water quality, aquatic plants, algae, and storm water management, as well as a discussion focused upon “best management practices” that we can all implement within the Cobbett’s Pond watershed.

Visit the American Red Cross blood drive
at Windham Middle School, 112 Lowell Road, Windham, sponsored by the Windham Police Department. Donor hours are from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and all blood types are needed. All presenting donors will receive a T-shirt courtesy of the Windham Police.
Thursday, April 22
The Pelham Recycling Complex (PERC) has plans to Celebrate Earth Day with a tree planting event at noon on Earth Day. Other activities include chances to win PERC T-shirts, recycling stickers, and free shredding services for a one-month period. Also on hand will be a meet and greet
with information available from the town’s Conservation Board, Forestry, and Garden Club. Director Ron Hannon will be available for any questions, along with refreshments from noon-4 p.m. The facility has gone through a face-lift over the past two months, with many changes in procedures to better assist residents, increase efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase recycling awareness.

The Pelham Public Library will hold a Poet
in Residence Workshop featuring local poet
Steve Scaer from 6-8 p.m. Stephen Scaer has had poems published in many magazines,
including Cricket, First Things, and Light.
Mr. Scaer will be available for questions during and after the program. There will also be light refreshments available.
Wednesday, April 14
The Pelham Public Library will hold a Library Trustee Meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Dr. Ernest Matthew Law Reading Room (second Wednesday of each month). The meeting is an open public meeting.
Friday, April 23
Michelle’s Menagerie will be at the Nesmith Library with her Desert Animals from 1-2 p.m. This program is open to home- schoolers ages 3-12. Space is limited, so call 432-7154 to sign up.

at their April 15 meeting, which will be held at the Windham Town Hall at 7 p.m., and the public is invited. The program will feature how to prep flowers for beautiful hairstyles. Pelham Parks and Recreation is offering
new Adult Computer Classes. Come meet
with instructor Chad Nale at the computer classroom in Pelham Elementary School. The classes will include introductory reviews and how-tos with lots of hands-on practice each time. There will be six weeks of one- hour classes on Tuesday evenings, starting May 4 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The first three weeks will review Word, and the next three will offer an introduction to PowerPoint. The programs used will be Microsoft Office. Space is limited, so sign up now—first- come, first-served. Open to adults, and there is a cost. Sign up at Pelham Parks and Recreation.

The youth lessons are available on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for four weeks starting May 13, or on Tuesdays from 5-6 p.m. for four weeks starting June 8.
