Cookbook, picnic on St. Steven’s schedule

Bring a dish to feed 10 to 12 people, and St. Steven’s Catholic Church in Sun Lakes will supply the hot dogs and hamburgers for the potluck picnic held from noon to 3 p.m. on April 11.

Tricksee the clown will be at the gathering, doing balloon art and face painting, and there will be a jump house for children.

Reservations are required so the church knows how many hot dogs and burgers to purchase for the event.

Recipe for a cookbook

Time-tested family recipes are sought for a cookbook being compiled by St. Steven’s Catholic Church.

cookbook@saintstevensparish.org. Include sender’s name, type of recipe such as main dish or desert, etc.

Forms are also available if preferred. Drop by the social office to pick up or deliver a recipe form. The church is located at 24827 S. Dobson Rd. For further details on the cookbook or to RSVP for the picnic, contact Diane at 480-895-9266, ext. 107.

Chandler church hosts health fair

The Chandler SDA Church Health & Temperance Department hosts “Spring into Health,” its first annual Health Fair, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sun., April 11 as part of an ongoing effort to inform, educate and empower the community to adapt healthier lifestyle behaviors. The event offers free health screenings and services for the public including blood pressure, cholesterol, vision and dental checks; mammography; mental health counseling; a bone marrow drive; immunizations; blood donations; physical therapy and more. Activities for kids are also available.
