Testing – Students in grades two through six participate in standardized testing April 13 through 19, and parents are encouraged to ensure their children have a healthy breakfast and arrive at school on time so they can perform to the best of their ability. Book Fair – Navarrete will have a “Buy One Get One Free Book Fair” at the end of April and beginning of May. Parents are needed to help run the cash register. If interested, contact Mrs. Werlinger in the Library. Field trip – Fourth-graders are going on a field trip to the Grand Canyon in April to learn about geology and fossils from the park rangers. Thanks to parents for donating enough tax credit money in 2009 to make this event possible. Friendly Reminder – To keep children safe, students should not be on campus before 8:10 a.m. unless they are part of a before-school club. There is no supervision on the playground until 8:10. Courtyard – There have been many students playing in the courtyard before and after school. The courtyard is not a supervised area, so students should not be playing there. Parents are asked to remind their children to head straight out to the playground before school and to head straight home or to parent pick-up after school.
