Business

Extreme Bodyshaping (XB) celebrates its grand opening on April 3 with the start of a 10-week fitness program that pays $1,000 to the participant who shows the biggest transformation.

The Chandler fitness studio offers 45-minute group classes that include a mix of fitness kickboxing workouts, resistance training and a nutrition plan to keep participants energized. At the end of 10 weeks, participants are evaluated and the person with the largest transformation wins $1,000.

Classes cost approximately $6 each and include boxing gloves, wrist wraps, a XB course manual in which to log workouts and meals and three fitness evaluations. Participants younger than 18 are welcome with parental consent, and those younger than 16 may take the course with a registered adult. Early registration is suggested.

XB is located at 4939 W. Ray Rd., Suite 9, on the southeast corner of Ray and Rural roads. To learn more, call 602-885-1512 or visit www.extremebodyshaping.com/chandler.

Chandler University launching, seeking investors

A fully-accredited, online Chandler University is expected to go virtual by the end of the year, and will eventually evolve into an entire campus. Principals held a private reception at the Ocotillo Golf Resort late last month to discuss the potential for investors.

Chandler University will offer certificate, associate, bachelor and graduate programs in “niche” areas. Certificates will be offered in accounting, construction operations management, digital marketing, finance, home and building inspection, marketing, project management, real estate investing and small business management. An Associate of Science (AS) degree is available in accounting, digital marketing, marketing, finance, real estate investing and small business management. Bachelor programs include Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Construction Management & Technology, and graduate programs offered will be Master of Science in Construction T and Master of Business administration in Construction Management. Camelback Education Group (CEG) Chief Executive Officer Steve Cooper says Chandler University is intended to be “the premier online university of the 21st century, by providing unique niche degrees and certificates to adult students worldwide.” Cooper has developed military and leadership academies, and worked with other for profit, online universities.

Ocotillo resident Mark Lewis is part of Chandler University’s leadership team as vice president of investor and media relations, along with Chief Operating Officer Harris Sibunruang, formerly with Accenture and PricewaterhouseCoopers; Ryan Busch, chief marketing officer; and Sara Ridgway, chief financial officer.
