drumming circle guided by Karl Miranda of Drum4Wellness, a sitar performance by Rick de Yampert, and other music and chanting. There is a $20 donation requested for participation in the Sun Salutations. In addition to the yoga session, donors will also receive a brunch catered by the Dancing Avocado Res- taurant and a massage from one of the Wyndham’s therapists. Food and services were donated so that all proceeds can go to Plastic Free Ocean. Non-yogis and beginners are invited to participate by do- ing fewer sun salutations, doing modified versions in chairs, or just helping with a beach cleanup. At noon, Cheryl Floyd, Storyteller will tell stories about the environment. According to Cheryl, “Stories can help us to learn about our personal responsibility and stewardship of our environment. After a morning of moving through the yoga posture’s along the ocean’s rhythmic shore, we’ll come together to share a deli- cious, nutritious meal and a green tale or two.”

uthor Virginia Ozue Seibert has recently released her book

Nurturing Journeys from Both Sides

of the Veil. In this book, the author uses her storytelling skills to tell true stories from her own experiences on “this side of the veil”, as well as stories shared by those who have already gone “beyond the veil”. Seibert’s “Café” shares memories of the author’s uncle, a successful Texas businessman in the fifties. “Our Blessing” conveys the author’s

life and the love of her new baby.It is this unique occurrence that assists her and others down paths they would have never chosen.

In “No More Secrets” Seibert shares her mother’s end of life journey as she sees beauty, love and angels everywhere. “Ruth and Margaret” is a shared journal of secrets long hidden in shame by two Irish sisters who immigrate to the United States and face incredible obstacles of deprivation, poor health and poverty in the 1800’s.And yet, they are never alone, because they have each other. “John’s Testimony” reveals the journey of a Louisiana boy born a slave in 1859. Forced to leave his home, he searches for family and “real” freedom.
