taken from an e-mail that she sent to Linda Moore. Joy is working in Cambodia to gain
cultural acclimation and training before moving to Laos: God has touched my heart to reflect on my
exposure trip. Actually, I’ve been doing a lot of this lately since today is my second month since leaving the Philippines. Look at how fast time flies! I just couldn’t contain His goodness and tender mercies. Maybe I’ll get to experience these on a much different level being away from home. Yeah, I’m away from home but closer to Him indeed. I’d like to share with you how God has blessed
me. Since I arrived from our brief trip to Pakse, I’ve shared with some friends my prayer requests as we start our mission there pretty soon. I’ve asked them to pray for God’s provision for me to purchase a laptop. So I was just so overwhelmed

I’ve learned so much during
my trip here. First and foremost is living and experiencing a different culture, which
is in more than one way, similar to the one I’ve grown up in. As I await the date of my departure to Laos, I continue to pray for God to make use of the remaining time to further mold and equip me. I know that as long as I am still here in Cambodia, I’m positive He’s not through with preparing me. So even though I’m excited already, I have to patiently wait. n
We call upon you, the people of the
churches of our association, to surround these two young women with constant,
fervent prayer that God may protect them as they minister in this different cultural setting.
