‘Everybody’s Embroidery Event’
Saturday 24th April from 10.30am until 4.00pm Village Hall, Cheriton Bishop
The West Country Embroiderers Cheriton Bishop Group members will be holding their annual prestigious ‘Everybody’s Embroidery Event’ in the Village Hall at Cheriton Bishop.
Visitors to the event will find a wealth of exhibits reflecting the embroidery heritage gained from past centuries that is being skilfully carried forward into the future by group members who also meet in the Hall on the first Tuesday of each month to learn various techniques of embroidery, develop and extend personal skills and encourage others that have an interest in the art.
Many of the members will be present at the Exhibition to discuss their work and exhibits with visitors and to demonstrate many of the methods of embroidery from historic Stumpwork and Goldwork through to modern machine embroidery; and specialist weaving too. Trade stands that have been a regular feature of the event will be present with a range of goods for embroiderers from beginner to the advanced. Refreshments will be available all day with light lunches at the appropriate time.
