23rd April The Carrivick Sisters
The B-Bar, The Barbican Theatre, Plymouth, 8pm
Twins Charlotte & Laura from South Devon play a variety of bluegrass instruments (guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro and fiddle) with vocal harmonies and are both songwriters. Although their background is in bluegrass, their music has a strong folk influence which is evident in their original songs, many of which are inspired by their local landscape and stories. The sisters were finalists in the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2010.
Food for Thought Spring Show

The Bucket Boys and Out to Grass
The Wharf, Tavistock 8pm Tim Renwick and Willie Wilson were both members of Quiver, later to join forces with the Sutherland Brothers, recording the hit single “Lying in the arms of Mary.” Dave Quinn has worked with Leo Sayer and the
Mechanics, Steve Turner has featured with Kirsty Macoll and Ralph McTell, and singer Rick Worthy has worked with Footsbarn Theatre and at The Theatre Royal and The Barbican Theatre, Plymouth as an actor, singer and director. Support is from ‘Out to Grass’, a Westcountry band playing their own unique brand of Bluegrass music all performed with an energy you wouldn’t expect from a band of their age.
