The Pink Panthers will hold a fundraiser dance at the American Legion Post 48, 37 Central Street, Hudson, (American Legion has donated the hall for the dance) from 7:30-11:30 p.m. Anthony Michaels from “A Goodtime DJ’s” will be the DJ. There is a small cost for the tickets, and all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event. There will be a 50/50 raffle, along with various gifts to raffle off. Volunteers from AARP will be at the Rodgers Memorial Library, 194 Derry Road, Hudson, to help senior citizens and low- to moderate- income taxpayers with their tax returns on Wednesdays from February 3 through April 14, from 1-5 p.m. Tax assistance volunteers cannot help prepare Schedule C, Schedule E, or complicated/lengthy Schedule D forms. Taxpayers with complex tax issues are advised to seek paid tax help. Call the library at 886-6030 to make an appointment.

Religious Events
Sunday, April 4
The following events will be taking place at the Community Church of Hudson, United Church of Christ, 19 Central Street, Hudson,
during Holy Week. Easter Sunrise service
will be held at Musquash Pond in Hudson at 6 a.m. on Sunday, April 4. In the event of rain, we will hold the service at the church. Easter Breakfast will be held from 7:30-9:30 a.m., following the Sunrise service. There will be a basket for a free-will donation, which will go to help a member of the church finance a trip to Zimbabwe in August to visit our partner church there. Easter Service will be held at 10 a.m. at the church. Nursery care is available. Communion will be served. If you have any questions, call the church at 883-7501.
Journey Church, formerly known as the Londonderry Church of the Nazarene, will
hold two services for Easter Sunday only.
In anticipation of a larger Easter crowd, the church will hold two services Sunday, April 4: an early service at 9:30 a.m. and its regular service at 11 a.m. Members will also meet at 6 a.m. for a sunrise service at Mack’s Apple Orchard. The church is currently meeting in the basement of the Beginning Discoveries child care center at 292 Derry Road, Hudson. Later this spring, the congregation will move to its recently purchased building at 5 Tinkham Avenue, Derry. For more information on Journey Church or its Easter services, call Rev. Are you concerned about your child’s development? The Griffin Memorial School will be holding a Childfind Clinic for children ages 3-6 years old. The clinic will screen students for possible speech and language disabilities, motor skills, and overall developmental functioning. The clinic will be held on April 2 from noon-2 p.m., and is open to any Litchfield resident. An appointment is required. Hudson Memorial School will be
performing the musical Willy Wonka in their gymnatorium on April 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. Come and see Charlie and the other Golden Ticket winners as they enter a world of pure imagination. Many lessons are learned as the lucky tour winners are guided though an amazing chocolate factory by the candy-man himself, Willy Wonka. Laura Goudreau, a senior at Alvirne High School, is hosting an event called Hoops of Hope, presented by the Alvirne Ambassadors, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. At the event, participants will shoot 300 free-throw shots and get sponsors. All money raised will go to the Hoops of Hope foundation. This foundation was started by a 12-year-old boy, Austin Gutwein. It raises money for orphans and others in Africa affected by AIDS/HIV. This is an open invitation to the public to come and watch the event. There will be baked goods and lunch sold at tables, music playing, and a video presentation on the Hoops of Hope foundation.
