Visitors on target

We are delighted to say that more that 700 people have visited Chesham Museum since we opened at the end of October last year and that’s not counting the many who have just popped in for a chat and to buy a postcard or two.

New Exhbition

We hope that many of our visitors will come back to see our new temporary exhibition, ‘House and Home,’ which starts 10 April.

Our researchers have been busy delving into the history of some of Chesham’s more interesting houses, some of them sadly no longer with us, and house building projects.

Thinking of Volunteering?

Here are three suggestions from www.do-it.org.uk

Fundraising Assistant (Grant Applications) – If you have an interest in writing, researching grants and supporting this local cause, we would love to hear from you. You would assist with fundraising for Chesham Museum by identifying grants available and applicable to the Museum and completing grant applications on behalf of the Trustees. This is a flexible opportunity with hours and days to suit the volunteer, working with trustees. For more information go to www.do-it.org.uk/oppdetails.do?id=1465369 Event Co-ordinator – We need a creative and enthusiastic person to organise and co-ordinate fundraising events for Chesham Museum. This is a flexible opportunity with hours and days to suit the volunteer, working with trustees to put on around ten fund raising events a year. There is an annual fundraising target of £15,000 with about half of this to be raised from events. The museum is run by volunteers, entirely. For more information go to www.do-it.org.uk/oppdetails.do?id=1465370 Museum Steward – Join our friendly and enthusiastic team to staff the Museum’s reception desk and small gift shop. Other tasks may be undertaken at the request of the Visitor Services Officer and Museum Trustees from time to time. Museum Stewards are the public face of the museum and should have good interpersonal skills. This is a flexible opportunity with hours and days to suit the volunteer within the museum’s normal opening hours. For more information go to www.do-it.org.uk/oppdetails.do?id=1465368
