Both Chesham United Girls and Ladies have had a fantastic month

getting teams to cup finals

It started with the Ladies

reserves beating Wycombe Reserves 3-2 Former U16 Chantelle O' Grady and Leeann McClellan opened the scoring but Wycombe pulled one back, Chesham increased their lead from Hayley Sandalls before Wycombe gave the match a tense ending to get to the first ever Ladies Trophy final where they will meet City Belles. The ladies 1st team played their rescheduled semi v Maidenhead at The Meadow and, in the 1st teams usual style they made hard work of it. Anneka Nuttall opened the scoring, before Maidenhead levelled, Kat Bowers finished well from Dawne Campbell’s hard work, again Maidenhead levelled then on 90 minutes Bowers grabbed the winner after Sian Williams put her through.

Both the Cup Finals

take place at Abingdon United on April 25th. The Chesham girls Under 14s have got a final in May to look forward to at Stadium MK as they won through to the Bucks Girls FL U14 final beating Berkhamsted 3-2 with an extra time golden goal. Chesham had gone two goals up though Annie Burns from close range and a Suzie Crabbe free-kick, but

Berkhamsted pegged them back and it took some last minute link up play from Laura Barton to put Crabbe through to blast the youngsters into the final. Finally the Under 12s had their semi final against Towcester – untested territory as the

two teams play in separate divisions of the Bucks Girls League and have never met before.

The Bucks team started poorly and an early mix up cost them a goal. However, Chesham began to dominate, and manager Laura Bradley encouraged them to press more at the interval. Persistence by Maria Ledezma led to a penalty but the chance to equalise was blasted over by Georgia Gibbs! With the clock ticking Gibbs made amends as she hit a long shot over the keeper into the top corner. Like their older age group it went straight into golden goal extra time. Chesham were determined not to let a final at Stadium MK slip through their fingers as they stepped up the pace and won themselves a corner.

Gibbs whipped a good ball into the box which was parried back

out to her, and with composure and confidence she created a better angle and whipped ball straight over the keeper into the back of the net putting Chesham through to the finals much to the delight of parents and players. The MK Finals will take place on May 16th at Stadium MK If you think your daughter would like to play football Chesham Girls are currently recruiting players.

Girls in all schools years are welcome but specifically U10s (school years 3,4,5,6) local training and local matches in the Bucks Girls Football League. For more information call Lisa on 07958342693 or contact the website www.culfc.co.uk

The English Table Tennis Association’s National Junior

League is open to any clubs, areas, districts

or leagues that wish to enter teams – three players under 18 years of age on 1/1/2010 comprise a team. It is organised on a regional basis at some 20 venues throughout England on four named Saturdays each season.

The Southern Region NJL, held at Chesham High School, comprised 16 teams from Chesham, Stevenage, Ashford (Middx.), Cippenham (Slough) and two clubs from Reading and once again had some 12 players playing at county junior level this season. The top 12 teams were split into two divisions of six with promotion and relegation being applied at the end of each of the three rounds of matches. The other four teams did not play in regular teams, but on an individual all-play-all rotational system. The Chiltern TT League/
