Change from Within
by Denice Davis
A
s human beings, we continuous- ly strive for better circumstances and reaching higher achieve-
ments. Although, often we shy away from the very thing that allows our visions and lofty ideals to take hold and catapult us into the realm of manifestation. What is that key element that
can take us to the next level? What is it about yourself or your life that you would like to see different? Each and every one of us has a piece of unful- filled expectation that gnaws away at the very fiber of our being. As we try to ignore it, the universe has a distinct way of gently nudging us towards the change we seek. Whatever it is in our lives that
we would change, the first step is to acknowledge 100 percent responsibility for it. Release any temptations to place blame for the event on anyone else. This is no easy task. Oftentimes we look at a situation and believe that a certain person or organization did something
which caused our pain, so they are to blame.
Once we have acknowledged
responsibility, it is now time to forgive ourselves for allowing it to happen. Simply put, if you want to lose weight, acknowledge responsibility for your weight. Next, forgive yourself for mak- ing choices that may not have been in your best interest, like eating too much, choosing unhealthy foods or not addressing a thyroid issue. This can apply to anything—a bad relationship, an unhappy work experience, money troubles, health issues, etc. When we acknowledge responsi-
bility and forgive ourselves, we need to remain completely sincere and really feel that sincerity. Then, and only then, can we release old patterns that no longer serve us. This allows for an open channel to receive the change we seek in our lives. Taking baby steps is essential to
implementing the necessary elements

required to achieve our goals. We need to be patient with ourselves; chang- ing a life-long embedded profile takes time. When the temptation returns to slip back into old patterns, remind yourself, “That’s who I was yesterday, but it is certainly not who I am today.” In many cases, just two to three weeks of continuously applying and reinforc- ing a new pattern results in the human psyche seeing it as a new habit. Change is inevitable—the world
around us is in continuous transforma- tion. It would serve us best if we could embrace and utilize it to create the life of our dreams. When you rise each morning, begin your day with a joyous welcoming of the glorious changes you are making.
