“Infeed/Conveyor they don’t get much longer”
One of the UKs largest suppliers of grapes has or- dered another Redpack P325 flowrapping machine. Tailored to meet the needs of the production method the P325 has a special 10 Metre long infeed, long enough for 6 weigh packing stations. Grapes are weighed into trays at each station by operators and the filled trays are placed onto the flowrapper infeed which carries the grapes to the wrapping module. For some supermarkets the trayed grapes have to have a lid rather than film overwrap but the weigh stations
and tray conveyance still needed to be used. Redpack have solved this problem by arranging for the wrap- ping module to be switched off so that the lidded trays are conveyed through the flowrapping machine, Redpack have called this the “pass Through Feature” as it allows the trays to be conveyed without wrapping. The P325 has a three axis drive and “No Product No bag” so if the operators miss an infeed pocket no empty bags are produced. This versatile machine has been specified to wrap 10 different sizes of trays and has “Gusseting” to tuck the sides of the film in so that the end crimp has a neat and high class appearance.

Kliklok launches NEW Cascade Loading System
A fully automatic ‘Cascade’ Loading System (C.L.S.) has been designed & built by Klik- lok to complement their wide range of end load and top load cartoning equipment. The stand-alone unit is designed to feed bags or sachets in singles or collated stacks using a timed 3-stage vertical drop rotor system. The products can be dropped ei- ther into the moving flights of an end load cartoner infeed, or directly into a top load carton as part of a forming, filling and closing line. Standard features include an icon based colour touch screen, to enable easy recipe-style product listings and selec- table multi-collations for quick change over. This operator-friendly screen also enables fully adjustable drop timing and conveyor speed adjustment. The CLS can be fitted to any end load cartoner, and is supplied com- plete with adjustable metering conveyor slope, with optional product settling device & lift up or air eject product abort system. With a top speed of 120 products/bags per minute, the CLS has a wide size range, with an ‘XL’ version also available.

It doesn't use noisy pneumatic punches, have heated pins nor have pins to burst through the film so the film tracks better with no risk of the film tearing.
