New carbon fibre pneumatic lug shaft

Jarshire Ltd has introduced a new lightweight, lug-type carbon fibre airshaft that is recommended for unwind and rewind applications when using cores. Jarshire say the new shaft, designed by Svecom P.E., will increase productivity as well as extend the life of the shaft. Additionally, when compared to ex- isting steel shafts it has the advantage of being lighter in weight, can be carried by a single operator without assistance, and run at a higher critical speed. The

shaft body is made of high strength carbon fibre, fabricated through a high pressure and temperature process comprising several very thin carbon fibre sheets. Aerospace technology was used to assure max- imum density, the best performance and greater reliability. Standard di- ameter of the shaft is 3 inches and standard lengths are available be- tween 800 and 2500mm. However, other sizes can be supplied to suit customers’ specific requirements.

Tamper Technologies launch tamper evident box tapes

Tamper evident tapes for secure con- tainment on all qualities of fibre board boxes and cartons are now available from Tamper Technologies. The Tam- perTech tapes seal instantly, providing immediate bonding action upon appli- cation and then identifies any opening and re-closure of the cartons. Tam- perTech tapes are available in standard off the shelf options: brown packag- ing tape with a covert message, blue and white or red and white tapes with an overt message of VOID OPEN or

with a European option if appropri- ate. TamperTech also offers customer specific options. The strong, superior box sealing tapes protect packages world wide in hot and cold tempera- tures. TamperTech tapes are available in industry standard sizes and roll lengths of 500m. Different roll lengths and widths can be manufac- tured specifically if required.
