SATO launches new standalone tag printer

SATO, has launched a new tag printer, the DR3, to cater for the retail market’s increasing need for

more visible price marking and in-store promo- tions and for access control in the events sector. The printer can be used for garment tags, luggage tags, price labels, shelf-edge labels and food safety labels. It is also suitable for printing patron admis- sion tickets and wristbands- up to a thickness of 0.28 mm- for concerts, sporting events, clubs and similar occasions where access control is impor- tant. The DR3’s most significant feature is its standalone printing capabilities. Variable data can be input using a new SATO keypad, so the printer doesn’t need to be connected to a PC or host sys- tem. The machine is designed for easy configuration without using a host PC, but it can also be operated in online mode whilst connected to one - for example, for monitoring and remote printer management, even of multiple printers.
