“Thumbs up to my mom and dad! for always bringing me to soccer games. Thanks Dad for coaching the team. Love Jamie”
Thumbs Up? Thumbs Down?
“We want to be your Mechanic”
“Thumbs down to pet owner
who make excuses for hitting their animals. Shame on you!”
“Thumbs up to Rocky, the best hamster in the world! Roll baby roll!”
“Thumbs down to the radical lefties who complain about my marriage to my cat. Marriage was invented as a holy union between man and wife. It may be law, but we never voted on it. I’m happy that I’ve ruffled the feathers of the resident moonbat and the hyphenated last name militant women liberals. Marrying my truck is just as valid as men marrying men!”
“Thumbs down to the person who does not
want to restore Benson’s Animal Farm in favor of a latte and
organic fruit, rather than a safe family environment to enjoy ‘nature’, Go Back to Cambridge, MA!! This is why we choose to live in this area.”
“Thumbs up to the website www.whatswhat. me. It prevents preteen bullying. How many kids is this happening to and the parents aren’t even aware. This site is best described as a social networking site ‘on training wheels’ for preteens. They’ve put a lot of effort into the entire site which is designed to keep its members free from cyberbullying, safe from adult users, and educated about how to responsibly use the Internet. It has many ‘one of a kind’ features such as: webcam validation to ensure only children are online; live moderation; no external links; and state of the art server security. They will also run a fundraiser where a $5.00 contribution would be made for every annual $40 membership sold.”
“Thumbs up to all the citizens who took the time to vote last week. It is indeed the foundation of our nation that people have right the elect those who serve. Your voice and vote really do count.”
“Thumbs down to the individual that
‘borrowed’ my Longaberger basket from Litchfield Middle School. I prepared and brought in food for the teachers dinner (planned by the P.T.O) and when I went to retrieve my basket it was gone. That basket was a gift and not a cheap one at that. If someone with a conscience borrowed it or has seen it, please return it to the school, I would really like to have it back. Signed,
From Now on I send in Plastic!”
“Thumbs down. Why was the Queen of Hearts in the new Alice in Wonderland a redhead? Most stereotypes are wrong except when it comes to redheaded women and their tempers. It’s hard to tell exactly when they’re going to explode because they’re mean and nasty 90% of the time anyway. Then whatever little thing lights their fuse, bang! You can tell their profile, usually they have less then 2 good friends and in most cases their mom’s are their best friend. Want to create world peace? Send all redheaded women to Anger Management Therapy. ‘Thumbs down’ to Hudson Redheads, off with their …….. Tempers!”
“Thumbs up to Ian C. for being an awesome gymnast! Way to take 2nd place All-Around at the State Championship and qualifying to represent NH in the Regional competition next month!”
“Thumbs down to Yuppies
Gone Wild. You probably don’t eat meatloaf and yet you want to cut down the trees to develop a pristine nature area, like Benson Park to serve your materialistic need for things.”
“Thumbs down to Litchfield’s
voters who voted ‘no’ on School district article #3, Educating Educationally Disabled children. These are going to be the grown- ups who will be paying your social security and Medicare benefits when you retire, not to mention being productive taxpayers. Also, ‘thumbs down’ to the woman who put the derogatory flyer on my mailbox encouraging the dim- witted to vote ‘no.’ Maybe if you had intervention at a young age, you would have the ability to think rationally, earn more money and be driving a newer car. –Incidentally, your car as a tail light that’s burned out.”
“Thumbs down, a super
big ‘thumbs down’ to the family displaying the torn and weathered American flag. It’s sad that they cannot take it down and replace it.”

“Thumbs down, a huge
‘thumbs down’ to the crossing guard at Melendy & Thorning Road in Hudson. Hello, you are a crossing guard not traffic control. All cars exiting Thorning Road have a stop sign. I could understand it if you were stopping traffic for the school bus who have a schedule to stay on but to stop traffic traveling on Melendy Road is wrong! Do the job that you were hired to do ‘Crossing Students Safely.’ And ‘thumbs down’ to HPD for sitting there and allowing this to happen. STOP means STOP.”
“Thumbs down to the person who took the special crutch from the community center last Thursday. It belonged to a handicapped person. We have not been able to get another one to replace it. Please return it to the community center.”
“Thumbs up, a big ‘thumbs up’ to both Stephan and Sabrina S. for achieving high academic Honors. Stephan was named to the Dean’s List for High Academic Honors at Plymouth State University, in Computer Science all while maintaining a job at the University. Sabrina was also named for High Academic Honors at Alvirne High School, and was appointed to Honors camp this summer in Arizona, also while working. We are very-very proud of you both and Love you very much. Way to go guys, you are the best !! Love Cathy and Dad.”

“Thumbs down to HMS. I am so tired of hearing from my kids that they’ve been disrespected and told over and over that they are all bad kids. Has the staff, some not all, ever heard of ‘you get back what you give?’ Try giving respect to these children and you may be pleasantly surprised in what you receive in return. Maybe it is time for a new principal who knows how to be respectful herself and insist that her teachers respect their students. If you aren’t aware of how disrespected these kids are, then you should be. Our children is your job.”
“Thumbs down to the goobers and the school kids for voting. They could come when they get out of school. I am a taxpayer and I am against them bringing them down.”

“Thumbs up to the 2009 Town of Litchfield Annual Report, were else can you find that child porn offenses went from 0 to 3 from 2008, and that sex offender registrations went from 3 to 8 from 2008, also domestic disturbance up about 50 percent, everything you wanted to know right in a little red book that probably 70 percent of us don’t even have or read, oh by the way were are these people living within our town. Oh I forgot pistol permits up about 40 percent thank god for some good news.”

“Thumbs down to the parents on Newstead
Street who let their kids ride their motorcycle up and down the road at all hours of the day, including before 8AM on occasion. Any decent weather day is ruined by the constant sound of an engine repetitively roaring by our home. My family can’t hear themselves talk or think half the time. We moved to a quiet neighborhood for a reason, there are other places to learn to ride motorcycles. There is a balance between keeping your children occupied and being good neighbors. Please figure this out before calls to the town have to be made. We won’t let this ruin our spring and summer.”
“Thumbs down. Spider on your roof, spider on
your roof. Lookin’ like a goof with a spider on your roof!”
“Thumbs down to Hudson Hannaford, the store
was fine, why change it? Now everything is in a different spot and though I have been buying less my bill seems to be more...hmmmm, Market Basket here we come!”
“Thumbs down to women who use their
children as weapons during a divorce. More and more women are using their children as a tool to get more child care, alimony, and force their soon to be ex-husbands out of their homes. This is a disgusting practice that is fully endorsed by the courts. Unfortunately much of this behavior is part of the brainwashing by the multi-billion dollar Divorce Industry. Guys, child care for 1 child under 18 is 25% of your gross income and for 2 children, it’s 33% of your gross income. The only people who make money in a divorce are the attorneys….The family is the big loser.”
“Thumbs down to First Student Bus Company
that Litchfield uses. Using violent scare tactics to get the kids to keep their heads and hands inside the bus when the windows are open by saying that ‘you will get decapitated and your fingers will get chopped off.’ Thanks for leaving it up to the parents to clean up the Bus Company’s mistake of terror! The Bus Company says ‘we especially tell the middle school kids that.’ Well, your drivers didn’t listen because they said it to Kindergarten- 4th graders!”

around headless using the same ol’ worn out hysterical arguments: crime will go up, it’ll be a burden on our police and fire departments, it’ll ruin lives and destroy families. One person even wrote in and wanted the property preserved and not developed - here’s your chance to purchase your piece of paradise rather than impose you wishes on a property owner. Anyone going to a casino knows that there is a zero tolerance for misbehavior whereas casinos are extremely sensitive to reputation and work with the host communities to minimize any impact on the local social fabric. Studies prove that if ya build a casino in a crime zone you will have more crime. The Hudson site is not a crime zone. End of argument. To the gambling addict – you know perfectly well that it DOES NOT matter where the casino is located. If a gambling addict wants to gamble you will move heaven and earth to satiate the addition. As for increased strain on Police and Fire resources, build-in the increase costs in infrastructure as part of the building agreement –both initially and on-going costs. The casino can co-exist with the town and provide a revenue source in lean times now and in the years to come.”
“Thumbs up to Peter DeSalvo Construction for volunteering to clean up the local park....Great job!!!”
“Thumbs down--to Verizon
Wireless for mandating data packages for new phones!!! Family of 5 would be a
minimum of an extra $50!!! “ “Thumbs down to not using turn signals when
you need to turn!!”
“Thumbs down to the Radziewicz family! It truly is unfortunate that you allow your children to fight your battles. Before placing my vote, I did a little research on the issue and it seems that the family has had many issues with other neighbors and the town in the past. I hope that everyone who reads this will ‘Google’ the Radziewicz Hudson NH and see for yourself. I hope the selectmen over turn the vote and proceed to take legal action against this family.”
“Thumbs up to the Shorties Recreational Basketball team! You boys did really great this season, and have significantly improved your basketball skills. All four coaches are so proud of you. We urge all of you to play next year. Thanks for a great season, and thanks to all your parents. Congratulations on a BIG win in our last BIG game, Shorties!”
“Thumbs up to the Benson’s Committee.
Benson’s looks amazing and is improving dramatically each and every day. All of us who volunteer thank you for the opportunity to help out. Even an hour of working with you all makes the biggest difference to Benson’s. Good job and keep it up.”
“Thumbs up to all the volunteers who worked
at the Wacky Olympics. Fun was had by all.” “Thumbs down to the HPD for not showing up
for the Wacky Olympics. Don’t commit if you’re not going to show up.”
“Thumbs up to my mom! You are the most caring and hardest working people I have ever met! While caring for a family of seven and still managing to help Andrew with all his diabetes stuff and putting dinner on the table every night for all of us you still manage to make sure everyone is always having fun. I love you sooo much. Keep up the great work! By the way I really appreciate all the new dance items you purchased us! Thank you for being such a huge help in my life! Love, Madison!”
“Thumbs down to the extremely miserable dispatcher at the Hudson Fire Department who, anytime we have called to have a fire (as we are instructed to do) is downright rude. It’s as if we’re interrupting her quiet evening at home. She has no people skills and should not be dealing with the public. The firefighters on the other hand are always friendly, polite, and very pleasant. ‘Thumbs up’ to them.”
“Thumbs up to the Litchfield band and
choral concert and art display. What a wonderful job everyone did. Thank you to all of those who donated concessions and volunteered their time to make the event a success!”
