Happy Feet Dance School
Happy Feet Dance School, LLC is a friendly dance school built on the belief that anyone can dance. The school focuses on each student’s unique potential to dance to the best of their own ability. Students are able to grow in a positive atmosphere with an emphasis on fun! The school was opened in the fall of 2005 under its current owner, Erica O’Donaghue. Since its early days, the school has offered classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Cheer Dance, and Lyrical to students of all ages. The school has proven to be very popular with its age-appropriate pre-school classes. New to Happy Feet this year is the Fancy Feet
Performance Company. This company allows the school’s older, more serious students the

opportunity to perform at Happy Feet events. The company performed in a holiday show this past December, and will be performing in a “Princess Show” this weekend. This program has been a positive experience for all students involved. It has allowed to older students an opportunity to choreograph pieces of their own performance. The program allowed the younger students to learn the importance of teamwork. Most importantly, all students had a wonderful time performing for their friends, family, and peers! Happy Feet Dance School, LLC is currently planning their fun-filled summer programs. Feel free to call Erica at 434-4437 for more information.

"People Look Up To Us"
High & Dry roofing was established in 1999. The owners have been in business for 30 years. Before moving to New Hampshire, we were located in the Boston area. Mike served in the Marines in the mid-’70s. After completing his stay, he worked as a roofer, learning the ins and outs of asphalt, hot tar, and copper work. In 1980, he opened his own company and has been working hard ever since, servicing New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
When Hurricane Andrew hit, Mike relocated the company to Florida and

Salem Community Patriot

By Doug Robinson
Laschi’s Garden Center, Route 97,
Methuen, MA, has been providing area residents with quality annuals, perennials, shrubbery, and assorted greenery for nearly a generation. With the addition of their fresh farm stand, “We have the opportunity to support the local produce, dairy, and farm community by providing them a venue to sell their products to local residents.” Both Jim and Wendy Laschi have
worked hard to locate and develop relationships with the best growers in the area to purchase farm-fresh vegetables, breads, and dairy items sold at their farm stand. ‘We are very particular from whom we purchase our vegetables and we buy our corn; we buy it from the best corn grower in the area. I personally select every vegetable we sell at our Farm Stand, making sure that the produce we sell is without doubt the freshest daily.” Jim Laschi’s passion for choosing
and selling the freshest vegetables was developed at the early age of six, when he used to accompany his dad, Basil, to not only to Lawrence, MA, but also the local beaches, including Salisbury, MA. Here, Jim and his dad would spend 14 hours days selling vegetables from the back of Basil’s pick-up truck. “It is in our blood, and our passion for the finest quality of produce was taught to me by my dad. I knew when he used to tell me that we are going to the beach today, he really meant that we were going to be selling produce for a very long time that day. I was only six years old back then, but I remember his lessons that the most important value of selling produce was freshness and quality.” “Our goal is to have a complete farm
stand. In addition to produce which is picked fresh daily, we have expanded our selections and now sell farm-fresh eggs, fresh baked breads, all glass bottled milk, cut flowers, fruit baskets, Pie Guy Pies, Chicken Connection Chicken Pies, and daily fresh-cut roses for only $9.99/dozen.” “We grow what we sell,” continued
the Laschi’s. Nine greenhouses line the 18-acre property filled with rainbows of color. Blossoms cascading from the locally grown plants radiate the bright colors of reds, yellows, purples, blues, and greens. Potted geraniums and hanging ivys are only of the few of the thousands of plants that are being hand- grown by the Laschi’s. Laschi Garden Center has been a
family-owned and operated business since 1980, and like their parents and father before them, Jim and Wendy’s children, Angela and Jimmy, have made the decision to follow in their parents’ footsteps and have joined the Laschi Garden Center Team of growing professionals. “Our son, Jimmy, is our Flower Grower and our daughter, Angela, oversees the operation of our farm stand. As I did with my father, our children have worked with us for years. They understand the dedication and commitment to both quality and customer service, which is required in today’s business climate.” This coming Mother’s Day, Laschi’s
Garden Center has decided to bring
back their “FAMOUS IMPATIEN
SALE.” According to Co-Owner Wendy Laschi, “Our customers will be lining up for hours before we open, as early as 6 a.m. to take advantage our special pricing, promotion, and quality products. We feel that we need to give
