NEW PUBLICATION
The Anopol Group has published a new booklet on electropolishing of stainless steels. Contents include a brief history of the treatment, process effects and possible pitfalls when specifying an electropolished surface finish, whilst one section covers applications of electropolishing, including coloured illustrations of typical examples.
The surface produced by the electropolishing process is very different from that resulting from mechanical linishing and buff polishing. Unlike mechanical polished surfaces, the process produces no thermal or physical distortion. The gradual electrochemical removal of a surface layer greatly improves the corrosion resistance of stainless steels. The resulting finish is also micro-smooth, highly reflective and has a number of beneficial characteristics for both functional and decorative applications. The booklet is free on request.
HIGH PERFORMANCE & COST EFFECTIVENESS FOR BELT GRINDING
FEIN's GRIT GIS 150 belt grinder, is a new stationary grinder with a belt width of 150mm, it has been developed for extreme grinding of steel and stainless steel for professional applications in metal and steel construction. GRIT GIS belt grinders are ideal for coarse grinding and deburring of steel and stainless steel. The feature a robust three-phase motor with an output of 4kW. The contact plate with helical groove acts like teeth when grinding, thereby increasing the amount of material removed. The force is transferred with virtually no slip to the grinding belt by a drive pulley coated with polyurethane. Quiet operation and low vibration levels also make the user's work much more pleasant.
INVERTER TIG WELDING MACHINE HAS MULTI PROGRAM SET UP
Weldspares has launched Technology TIG 222 from Telwin, which allows for either High frequency or Lift starting TIG, Pulse TIG and MMA inverter welding in both AC & DC. All in a compact & lightweight case at only 12.8Kg making it easily portable with the included carry strap. Its microprocessor control features 15 pre-programmed welding setups and allows for individual customization of a further 15. It can be used with a wide range of materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, nickel, magnesium and their alloys. Combined with its wide current range from 5-200A the machine has a huge range of applications.
