crafted with our custom built equipment, beginning with a precision cut box joint. The second machine trims, rabbets, pre-drills and cuts the easy grip
hand-holds. Choose your unassembled boxes from three grades of pine: Select, Commercial or Budget. Nails
are not included.
SELECT: Only the smallest of knots are acceptable (pencil eraser size or smaller) & has to be a tight knot, no black knots at all. No knots of any kind on the fingers or rabbet ear.
COMMERCIAL: Black knots larger than a quarter dollar are not acceptable. Fingers and rabbet ears must be free of knots. Knots with cracks going all the way through, as long as the knot is solid are acceptable, unless the knot is bigger than a quarter. Small knots in the hand hold are acceptable, unless in the thin part of hand hold. Black edge knots or planer skips with 1/2” (1.27 cm) thickness or less can be missing from the top or bottom of the board.
BUDGET: Loose knots are acceptable unless you can push them out. Knots on fingers and rabbet ears are acceptable. Knots in hand holds are acceptable. 1/2 the thickness or more can be missing from the top or bot- tom of the board as long as it remains a functional board. Sides and ends with hand holds slightly off center are acceptable.
