Rawhide hosts fundraiser for injured stuntman
In order to help an injured stuntman pay his medical bills, Arizona Roughriders, Southwest Stunt Association and Rawhide Western Town & Steakhouse are holding a fundraiser for Jayson James, who was injured while performing a dangerous stunt on the movie set of “Western X.”
Headlining the 1st Annual Rawhide Stuntman Rodeo, held 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on April 3, are stunt legends Spanky Spangler, Ron Nix, Pat Larkin and Rodd Wolf. Competition and exhibitions include death drag, saddle fall, trampoline jump, fire burn, car jump, motorcycle course and obstacle course. For a final act, Spangler takes a 120-foot fall.
A highlight of the Rawhide Town activities is a performance by a reunion of Roughriders from the past 28 years in Rawhide’s Six Gun Theater. Shows are scheduled every 30 minutes beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Rodeo tickets are $10 and do not include Town Passes, which cost $15 and provide unlimited access to all Town attractions. Instead of a Town Pass, visitors may choose to pay $5 admission per show/attraction.
Rawhide Western Town is located at 5700 W. North Loop Road in Chandler. For additional details, call 480-502-5600 or visit www.rawhide.com.
