Businesses and individuals can help raise money for operational costs for the new Compadres Branch of the Boys and Girls Club and provide needed programming for area youths by sponsoring the annual Chandler Compadres Golf Classic tournament. The following sponsorship opportunities are available for the event to be held April 9 at Ocotillo Golf Resort: Tee Box, $250 – Tee signage on select hole, name recognition in event program.

Chamber hosts former ASU president

Former Arizona State University President Dr. Lattie Coor headlines the Chandler Chamber of Commerce Economic Update Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wed., March 24 at Serrano’s Mexican restaurant on Arizona Avenue in Chandler.

For 26 years, Coor served as a university president, most recently at ASU from 1990 to 2002. Currently he’s chairman and CEO of the Center for the Future of Arizona, and will present “The Arizona We Want,” a new initiative to “help move the state forward.” His address will focus on building a citizen’s agenda that reflects what Arizonans are thinking and identifies a set of clear, measurable goals that describe “The Arizona We Want.”

Boot camp fitness at Chandler park

Certified personal trainer Tammy Mills offers a four-week fitness boot camp at Folley Memorial Park, south of McQueen and Frye roads in Chandler. Classes are held at 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
