Welcome to the Spring season at Arnolfini.
welcome
Under the banner of Lingua Franca the complex relationships between art
and language lie at the heart of this programme of work. Two exhibitions -
Imogen stidworthy, and Caroline Bergvall & Ciarán Maher's say Parsley
- explore the development of speech and language, and raise questions about
the potential for language to create barriers as well as enable understanding.
Me, Myself and I: otto Zitko & Louise Bourgeois highlights the language of
drawing as a powerful means of expression and communication. In his first solo
show in the UK, Austrian artist Otto Zitko's improvised drawings extend across
three floors of the building; and as an integral part of this intervention Louise Bourgeois, now in her 99

year, presents a suite of intensely personal drawings entitled Je T'Aime.
