OCA’s 2010 Executive takes office

The Ottawa Construction Association’s 2010 executive
committee and board of directors took office at the OCA’s
annual general meeting on Feb. 25.
In addition to chair Michael Caletti, president of the
Univex Group of Companies, other executive members
are: John Owen, first vice-chair (manager, Revay & As-
sociates Ltd.); Dean Drevniok, second vice-chair (presi-

Membership reached 1,004, an increase of 46 over
2008 and the 11th consectuvive year of membership
growth.
The association established a $40,000 Algonquin Col-
lege bursary which will generate annually $1,600 for a
student in any construction or design program. The asso-
ciation also committed $250,000 to the Algonquin Col-
lege Foundation over five years.
Financial reports show the association had revenues of
$1,899.035 and expenses of $1,755,285, resulting in a sur-
plus of $133,750. (In 2008, the association reported a
$156,939 surplus.) The association’s net assets at the end
of 2009 were $2,596,125, or approximately $2,500 per
member.
In addition to building and properties, the association
reported more than $1 million is held in CIBC GICs ma-
turing between 2011 and 2014.
