New Mercedes Vito Taxi is a
great ‘Tale’ in Canterbury!
“As you can see from my photograph, standing beside my brand new
Mercedes Vito Taxi, Iʼm not exactly a small chap!” says David Gray from
Canterbury. “But frankly, for any taxi driver whoʼs over 6-feet tall, or like me at
6 feet and 5 inches, then the Mercedes Vito Taxi is just the best cab around!”
Davidʼs last cab just didnʼt have the driver or the passenger room. “I felt
totally cramped and it was giving me back problems, so uncomfortable. But
this new Merc is so different. Very roomy for both driver and passenger -
thereʼs also 6 seats in the back, which is one better than I had before.”
Canterbury is always a busy place for both students and tourists, and the
tourists especially like to be given the ʻlimousineʼ treatment that you get in a
Mercedes. Itʼs a high quality taxi that can give the taxi driver with a Mercedes
Vito an image of delivering a quality image as well. “So for those drivers who
say that buying an expensive Mercedes wonʼt earn you any more money
than a cheaper vehicle, I disagree. People want to come back and hire my
cab all the time now, just because itʼs a Mercedes!”
I first heard about the new Mercedes when it was in London, indeed
there were a few drivers doing ʻlong jobsʼ down here with the tourists, so I
reckoned it had to be an attractive cab for the passenger. I got talking to one
driver and I found out that theyʼve already sold over 500 of them there. So
it had to be good. He said the Merc was doing him very well during these
recessionary times.
So, when Colin Case the local Sales Manager from Smith and Humphrey
who represent the Mercedes Vito Taxi over Southern England, offered me a
test drive in his demonstrator, as you can see it didnʼt take me long to be a
convert! Colinʼs a great chap and Smith and Humphrey have been committed
to selling and supporting the taxi trade for so long that I just knew I was
going to stay loyal to them. And here I am now, loving the comfort of my new
Mercedes, earning enough (if ever we can!) and looking forward to years of
trouble-free motoring!
