Faith’s unique style has drawn as much attention as her music
of late. Heavily influenced by the Forties and Fifties, she often
sports homemade creations or vintage outfits which are the
exact antithesis of today’s homogenous fashion world.
“The old times were hopeful,” she says of her influences. “Now,
music is very much set in reality but I prefer to live somewhere
over the rainbow. The way I dress is a reference to that.”
Faith’s musical influences are similarly old fashioned. Her bluesy
voice has been compared to the likes of Winehouse and Duffy,
but it’s the originators of that sound, the likes of Etta James and
Billy Holiday, she cites as heroines. And it’s not just her – Jools
Holland compared her to Etta James when she performed on
his show.
And she continues to make a great impression on television.
