Pink Ribbon
Celebrates 12 Years of
Supporting Local Women
Attendees of the 12th Annual NHRMC Pink
Ribbon Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner were treated to
various guest speakers promoting the message of hope and
compassion to women in our community diagnosed with and
being treated for cancer.
Lunch and dinner events featured mystery writer Ellen
Elizabeth Hunter. Local author and cancer survivor Connie Hill
was the breakfast speaker. Photographer Brownie Harris created
artwork inspired by the Pink Ribbon project. In addition, a video doc-
umentary featuring the lives of three local women impacted by cancer
was presented at all three meals.
More than 900 guests attended the October 8 event, which was
held at the Holiday Inn Resort. Begun in 1998, the NHRMC Pink Rib-
bon project has raised more than $1 million dollars to help women in
our community receive early diagnosis through mammography screen-
ings and Comfort Bags to those undergoing treatment.
