Flight
or
Fidelity
“It was a tremendous
blessing to see the fidelity of
the brethren who continue to
labor in this island nation.”
something they desire to end. About
three years ago, there was an agreement
made to support young ministers by
helping them get a secular education
(i.e. architecture, computer engineering)
in addition to their theological training.
Once they complete their university
studies, the financial assistance ends,
and they become bi-vocational church
planters. Things move slower in a plan
like this, but it decreases financial
dependency, increases self-esteem of the
ministers, and provides a vehicle for a
multiplication ministry to continue because
it is a model that can be reproduced.
The faithfulness of these brethren
should encourage each of us in our
efforts in God’s kingdom. While we
await our triumphant flight, may we
all be marked by fidelity. n
