Bali has something to offer for every Scuba diver, from
macro and small fish till large pelagic. Divers of all abilities
and experience can discover this stunning world with
SCUBA (Self Containing Underwater Breathing Apparatus).
Tulamben, at the north-east coast of Bali offers one of
the easiest wreck dives in the world with it submerged
remains of the “USAT Liberty”, a 120 meter long victim
of the second world war. It was torpedoed by Japanese
submarine I-166 in January 1942 and beached on the
coast of Tulamben. When Bali’s holy volcano Gunung
Agung erupted in 1963, the remains of the ship were
pushed of the beach and it rest underwater approximately
20 meter from the shore at a depth between 6 and 28
meters. Encrusted by a large amount of hard- and soft
corals it provides a home to many species of fish and a
resident large school of Jackfish and a huge Barracuda.
The area at both sides of the shipwreck consists of a sandy
bottom and a shallow coral reef popular with underwater
photographers searching for special macro creatures.
Padangbai (on Bali’s east coast) as well as Bali’s sister
island Nusa Penida are located in the Lombok straight
which get a daily through flow of fresh and rich waters
from the Pacific ovean to the Indian ocean. Manta rays
are attracted by the plankton rich water south of Penida
and can be consistently seen at a dive site called Batu
Lumbung (popularly know as Manta Point). The rare and
