Emma left school after her A-levels and moved to Los
Angeles after being accepted to the Lee Strasberg Theatre
Institute to study method acting. Originally intending to
visit for three months she stayed a year and a half. After
taking a screen-writing class in 2008 she found herself
writing and directing a two-page scene. “I thought, this is
crazy I have never picked up a camera in my life!”
Two weeks later she was running her ﬁrst ﬁlm set for
Somebody As Good As You, in which she acted, produced,
directed and edited. “I got such a buzz that it made me
realise maybe this is what I should be doing,” she says. Her
second ﬁlm Dreams Play Apart, and production company,
Holly Jones Productions, swiftly followed.
Emma continues a close working relationship with The
Lee Strasberg Institute and her aim is to go back to the
