Thirty two years ago a sweet sister of mine, handed me a small yellow book entitled “The Feminist Book
of Lights and Shadows” by Z Budapest. I had at this time, committed my life to forwarding the cause of
Feminism in the current environment of the 1970’s and was already a practicing solitary witch that
never included patriarchy into my belief system. At that time, I had no idea what an impact this small
yellow book would have on my life... but, it seems the Goddess had plans for me, that would not come
to full fruition until after I had turned 50!

As this book expanded into many other printings, I continued to buy it and read it over and over again,
and I own every version ever printed. Now, we are blessed to have the most current and updated
version, “The Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries” available to us. I practiced the spellcrafting, rituals,
used it for tarot readings, etc. and it became a part of me. I was fully immersed in the study and
knowledge of Women’s Mysteries, combined with my practice of witchcraft. There were lonely years of
being a solitary practitioner and over time joining various groups, which never seemed to quite resonate
with me, and many moons later I discovered the Dianic University online, in which the original author of
my little yellow book was the teacher! The Goddess worked a miracle in my life.
I became an ardent student of Z Budapest, and was
humbly invited to join her coven, the auspicious Susan B.
Anthony Coven No. 1. Since then, I have had the
opportunity to connect with other sweet sisters, whom
have become a huge part of my life. Without the
opportunity Z made available at her Dianic University
online, I would never have known these kind, yet powerful
Amazonian sisters, who stand with me through thick and
thin, and work so hard to further the cause of
Womenkind.

I studied with Z for almost a year, when I finally had the
joyous opportunity to meet her in person at her Gathering
of the Goddess in the Fall of 2008, when at last that little
yellow book I had carried around for over 30 years, was
signed for me, by my now High Priestess. I HAD COME
FULL CIRCLE!

I have learned so much about Spellcasting from my dear High Priestess Z, and she is always there to
answer my questions and keep me on track. I have been honored that Z has allowed me to write my
“Spells for Sisters” column in her monthly Goddess magazine and have enjoyed doing this for many
months now. This month I am honoring Z and all that she has brought into my life for so many moons,
by sharing one of her spells from the “Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries” (on page 30), entitled, “Spell to
