STAFF WRITER – The GTA Construction Report Special Feature
Gregor Homes in Simcoe County has
reached forward with environmentally re-
sponsible construction initiatives, which
Gail and James Bazely believe other
builders can successfully implement in
their own markets.
The Bazely family have credentials
for this leadership role. Gail has been a
community environmental group volun-
teer and leader for two decades, and
James is the current Ontario Home
Builders’ Association (OHBA) president.
However, they are modest about their
decision to build all new projects to high
Green Home Certification standards, and
point out that other builders throughout
the province have discovered that build-
ing Green doesn’t require major invest-
ments or increase construction costs
significantly.
Gail Bazely has supported Living
Green Barrie for 20 years. James and his
brother Luke oversee the business, origi-
nally founded about 28 years ago by Paul
Gordon and Barry Green.
