Hello Long Beach, Los Angeles and Orange County! Allow me to introduce
myself to you all! My name is Jizzona Straynger and I’m the new bitch in
town. I’m originally from Oklahoma, with a staunch Pentecostal upbringing.
I have since expanded my horizons and explored other sides to my personal-

ity. I got my start in a little trailer parked on Massachusetts Street in Lawton,
Oklahoma. Inside those two-inch thick walls was the place where I learned
to two-step, tango and horizontal mambo. In fact, those very dances were
and call me a biscuit...
the ticket that led to my first celebrity victory as Little Miss Tornado 1983.
Ironicism was the name of the game that year. The biggest tornado those
parts had ever seen picked my trailer right up off of its blocks and dropped
it 48 miles away in Beaver, Oklahoma. As destiny would have it, that’s where
my family rooted our happy little tails. As mother always said, “Why pay to
relocate? The good Lord obviously had a plan.”
The year I graduated from high school, I was offered a full ride to the
performing arts school at Dallas County Community College in Dallas, Texas.
I packed up my bags and headed south to get myself a high and mighty
education on a song and a prayer. Sure as the world is round, mothers’ main
squeeze that week packed up her red Chevy 4x4 and towed me off to Dallas.
In Dallas, I met the klassy, that’s correct, “klassy” with a “k,” Fonda Cox and
was asked to join her on a local gay podcast called DallasGayPod. After
seven great years of dishing the dirt on the Dallas gay scene, a small theater
company in San Diego gave me the part of a lifetime. The rest, as they say, is
HERstory with appearances in Phoenix, San Diego and regularly in Orange
County and Los Angeles County. And it seems that my reputation has pre-
ceded me all the way across the border into Mexico! That’s right poodles.
I’ve gone international! It was hell finding a sombrero to fit over big hair; the
higher the hair, the closer to God! I’m poised to bring each and every one
of you something very special each month, and that’s my journey through
this crazy thing we call life! You can see me and my sister, who is currently
performing the The Golden Gays, Miss Lady Vajayajy, Sunday nights at Ham-
burger Mary’s. I’ve been involved in the Orange County/Los Angeles area
raising money for various LGBTQ organizations such as Courage Campaign,
Shanti OC, Equality California, AIDS Service Foundation and Orange County
Equality Coalition. My current obsession is the return of American Idol,
anxiously awaiting the debut of Ellen! I also enjoy a wide variety of flavors
from sushi to a southern-cooked meal! I, like the lovely Daisy, travel with
a K-9 princess. My partner in crime is named Martini! Yes it’s true; I have a
thing for martinis, especially dirty ones! We enjoy the dog parks in Laguna
Beach, Irvine and Fullerton. She is currently seeing a couple of male suitors,
Oliver and Murphee, both of Anaheim. When the sun starts to shine and
the weather warms up, Martini enjoys hitting the dog beach in Huntington
and Long Beach. Be on the lookout for my crazy white and pink hair floating
around your favorite bars and events! You can meet me Sunday, February
7 and 21 at Hamburger Mary’s in Long Beach for The Ho Must Go On! The
proceeds from the February 7th show will benefit local HIV/AIDS organiza-
tions in LA/OC counties. You might also spot me at some of my local favorites
such as Metro Q in Huntington Beach or Paradise Piano Bar in Long Beach. In
Los Angeles, be on the lookout for Jizzona at The Abbey, Micky’s and Rage,
