INTERLITE
Interlite operates from the same location as Wireless Solution,
although it is clear this has its advantages, it is also clear the two
are separate entities. Niclas founded Interlite in 1993. He decided
he wanted a change from a one-man-show on the rental and
installation market, and instead opted for distribution and export.
The company began with the distribution of a couple of audio
brands, and soon grew from strength to strength. In 1999,
however, Niclas made the decision to stop distribution of audio
products so he could concentrate more on the lighting industry.
After the change was made, Interlite saw a significant growth in
2001 and it has been continuing to expand ever since.
In more recent years, the lighting market has seen the popularity The Interlite
of LEDs grow substantially, and in line with this, in 2005, Interlite
warehouse
chose to focus in on the LED market. The first high power LED
Interlite became involved with came from Italian manufacturer
SGM, in the form of the Ribalta. It was a very successful product
in the Swedish market and Interlite sold more than 800 fixtures in
Sweden in just three years. Today, Interlite has a very competitive
LED range on its books.
Interlite prides itself on being one of the best distributors in
Sweden, which offers a mid to high end range of products. It
has got a whole range of brands under its belt including SGM,
DTS, Clay Paky, Milos, LSC Lighting, all of which have exclusive
distribution contracts set up, as well as Avolites, Le Maitre and
ArKaos, which it shares distribution of in the Swedish market.
Interlite is SGM’s second eldest distributor, such long relationships
have been at the heart of Interlite’s success.
GOTHENBURG CITY THEATER
When I visited Gothenburg City Theater, it was celebrating 75
years to the day since its first stage performance, though the
building has been standing since 1934. Over the years the theatre
has played a vital role for the habitants of Gothenburg.
The theatre has a main stage with a capacity of 580. There is also
a smaller stage, which holds 180 people. On the main stage there
are more than 1,000 dimmers and upwards of 30 moving heads
including Clay Paky Stage Profile Plus, Martin Professional PAL
1200, ADB Lighting WARP and Licht-Technik MY Rohr, all of which
are run using eight DMX universes, through Wireless Solution’s
W-DMX. Whilst the audio is provided by d&b audiotechnik
loudspeakers, Lab.gruppen amplifers and a Yamaha PM1D mixer.
