IT Blog by Colin Fyfe
Google Inc. is an American public corporation,
specializing in Internet search and online advertising.
You may be familiar with the brand, if you aren’t,
computing may not be for you!
The company is best known for its ubiquitous internet search engine,
Google.com, but may yet become better known for some of its other
technologies, some of which I am personally quite keen on, others
however, I would recommend you remove from your computer.
Google Chrome internet browser I would say is on the way to being a
real success story for the brand. It is a quicker, tidier and I believe,
more secure and trouble-free equivalent to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer
browser. It is worth trying out and spending some time getting used to.
Picasa is a Google acquisition that has grown in popularity since its release
in 2004. I would recommend this software for the amateur photographer
as it has some useful tricks, from photo editing to tagging and fi ling. One
new tool in the program is automatic face recognition. If you leave it
running overnight you can have your pictures tagged with the relevant
names, a useful search tool. Some independent reviews place this free
application above the recently released Adobe Photoshop Element 8.
Another tool supplied free by Google is Google Earth, a satellite imaging

All you have to do is clip the SpokeLit
to your spokes (well where else are
you going to put a SpokeLit?), click
it on and get pedalling. You then
have the choice of a constant or a

The batteries last for ages and
installation only takes a few
