Gala Queen Selection
Bridge of Weir Festival Committee will be holding their Gala Queen Selection
on Saturday 6th March in the Cargill Hall, Lintwhite Crescent, Bridge of
Weir, from 6PM to 10PM. Applicants should be currently in either in Primary
6 or Primary 7 and live in the postcode area of PA11. Application forms will
soon be available from Bridge of Weir Primary and the Library in Bridge of
Weir. The Gala Queen and her two Attendants take part in many events
throughout the year so the girls must be prepared to be available of all
required dates and have the full support of their parents. More details will
be on the Application forms.
Bridge of Weir Choral Society
Bridge of Weir Choral Society is giving a concert on Saturday 20th March at
7.30pm in St Columba Church, Kilmacolm. The choir is conducted by John
Thwaites of RSAMD and we will be accompanied by Kevin Bowyer, organist.
The programme features Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mozart’s Coronation Mass and
four English anthems. The soloists taking part are Maria Kozlova soprano,
Lucinda Stuart-Grant mezzosoprano, Stephen Chambers tenor and Michael
deSouza bass. Tickets priced £7 are available from choir members or by
phoning 01505 872448. Accompanied children under 18 GO FREE.
