Evaluating the
success of training
QA has a wide range of evaluation
procedures in place to ensure our
customers are happy with the
training they receive.
We work closely with customers to ensure that the learning
solutions we provide meet their needs.
On our public schedule courses: At the end of each of our courses, all the
people on the course will complete a simple evaluation. We then use this
information to measure how well the training met the individual needs and to
identify any areas where we can improve.
For our bespoke programmes: We believe that the success of any
40
programme will be measured by success in the workplace. To make sure this
is achieved, we establish a clear vision of the outcomes you expect and
require from the very beginning. This includes intermediate success measures
to provide a reference point during the programme – and of course our
programmes are flexible enough to respond to the feedback from this. We find
that the best results are achieved by working with our customers to design an
evaluation model before the programme begins.
“We have used mid-programme review extensively within our
graduate training programmes. This is used to both review the
curriculum and also the programme attendees. Particularly
where we are embedding self-paced eLearning and
collaborative learning into the overall programme, assessment is
key to ensure that delegates are ready to progress to the next
stage of the programme. Adjustments are regularly made to
workshop content and additional learning interventions provided
to individuals to enable them to keep pace with their peers.
We also encourage our clients to engage with higher level
learning analytics so that customer satisfaction can be
measured on business results, not just delegate opinion.
360-degree feedback, post-course assessment and
management review are just some of the pragmatic
mechanisms we use to assess the business impact of learning
within an organisation. In every case, the clear alignment of the
training to business goals at design phase is absolutely key.”
