down. Whilst there may be concerns about the cost
of such a residential event to impoverished retailers,
the organisers are determined to try and keep the
costs for retailers below £100 which, for a residential
programme, is very good value for money.
Norman Nibloe, who runs the Tonbridge Christian
Resource Centres group and was for many years a
stalwart of CBC, said “I think this is fantastic idea,
just what we are in need of and I give the proposals
my unqualified support.”
Some concern has already been voiced at the
timing of the conference, so close to CRE the next
week. However, as Steve Briars explains, “STL
had already reserved the dates for their planned
Christian Media Conference and when it became
clear that they were not going to be able to take
up the booking we stepped in to take over the
dates.” Briars added that if the conference proves
to be successful in 2010 then the likelihood is that
this event would be scheduled for February/March
going forward.
