The story follows Susie Salmon, a
young girl adjusting to her existence in
her personal heaven after her grizzly
abduction and murder. Admittedly not
the most pleasant of subject matters but
Sebold’s delicate depiction of how Susie’s
family struggle to carry on without her,
along with the undeniable visual flair of
Jackson, mean this should be a sensitive
and touching movie.

Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland to the

left), Anne Hathaway’s White Queen
and Helena Botham Carter’s Red Queen
suggest this is going to be the exact
kind of surreal adventure we’ve come to
expect from Burton and may just provide
Depp with his most bizarre character
