New Camera Gadgets
For photography lovers with everything, here’s a few new
camera gadgets to request for Christmas.
The Birdwatcher’s Motion Activated Camera. This
weather-resistant 1.3 megapixel camera senses motion and
can instantly capture up to 20 pictures in 20 seconds. The
camera will sleep when there is no movement, and shuts off
at night to save energy. So you can’t use it to catch Santa
eating your cookies and milk on Christmas night. The camera
costs about $200.
The Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S camera is a 15.1
megapixel digital SLR camera that can also shoot full HD
video capture at 1920 x 1080 resolution, with HDMI output
for HD viewing of stills and video. With this camera and a
good zoom image stabilizer lens, you will have great bird
photos. The Canon sells for about $730 or $900 with an
extra 55-250 mm zoom lens.
The Timelapse Garden Video Camera. This video camera
will make a time-lapse video of your garden, plants and
flowers. The camera takes a picture at one of six pre-
determined intervals (five seconds to 24 hours), and combines
them into a single 1280 x 1024 resolution AVI movie file for
easy playback on a computer. This camera also turns off at
dusk. It will take up to 18,000 pictures stored on a 2GB
USB flash drive. This camera sells for about $160.
The LSD Video Screen Microscope. This new
microscope replaces the standard microscope eyepiece with
an LCD screen that displays objects at up to 1600X
magnification. A built-in 2MP digital camera captures still
images or videos and displays them. The microscope’s three
objective lenses (4X, 10X, or 40X) provide magnification
from 40X-400X (up to 1600X when used with its 4X digital
zoom). The camera’s built-in 128 MB memory can store up
to 120 still shots or up to 40 minutes of video at 1600 x 1200
resolution. An SD card slot allows for memory expansion.
It sells for about $300.
