Tarwater Toros Chandler High Wolves
IB workshop – Chandler High hosts an International Baccalaureate workshop Dec. 11 and 12,
with teachers all over the state coming to get training necessary for their programs.
Testing, testing – Final exams are given Dec. 16 and 17. Both days are half days.
Academic Decathlon – The first Academic Decathlon of the year was held at Mountain Pointe
High School. Niraj Patel won first in the varsity category for the science exam, and Amy Umaretiya
took third for both essay and interview and second for math and science exams in the varsity
category.

St. Mary-Basha Eagles
Basha High Bears
Fundraiser fun – More than 500 students in
grades K-8 did math problems and walked or ran for
45-minute intervals at St. Mary-Basha’s first Eaglethon,
raising money for their school. Students sought out
donors for these activities and competed for prizes
at various donation levels, such as free-dress days,
lunch with their favorite teacher and a Principal for

raised more than $113,000 in four weeks for the event. The money will go to technology and school
