Sean Brunle:
A BArtender with FlAir
At BourBon Street
Rage: When did you first start bartending at Bourbon
Street?
Sean Brunle: I started working at Bourbon just over
a year ago.
Rage: Tell us a little bit about yourself…where you were
born and raised and are you a San Diego native?
SB: I was born on Long Island but raised mostly in
Illinois and North Carolina. I’ve been living in San
Diego since July of 2008.
Rage: What night is your favorite at Bourbon Street?
SB: Saturdays are definitely my favorite night to
work. The crowd is very mixed. Our crowd is actu-
ally all across the board, it’s one of the reasons I feel
Bourbon is the funnest gay bar in San Diego.
Rage: What are some of the event nights there?
SB: Monday is Beat the Clock, where drinks start at
50 cents. Thursday we have a wet underwear contest
and Friday and Saturday different DJs come in and
help us throw a party along with various drink
specials.
Rage: What is one thing that most people don’t know about
you?
SB: I have a superhero fetish and I’m a hopeless
romantic, but I’ll never admit that.
Rage: What is one of your signature drinks?
SB: Don’t really have a signature drink but guarantee
I can make something you’ll like. I did create a cock-
tail recently I called the Dragon Lady, using Bacardi
Dragon Berry. Come try one!
Rage: What is your favorite drink?
SB: I’m a bourbon or whiskey kinda guy, but also
enjoy a good IPA or brown ale.
Rage: What’s your favorite spot for a date?
SB: Hmm...Outback? It’s actually more about the
company than the place, he knows who he is.
Rage: When you are not working, what is one of your favor-
ite things to do?
SB: I’m actually a flair bartender, so time goes to prac-
ticing that as well as playing basketball, concerts
(TOOL rules!) and traveling when I can.
