FREE CONFIDENTIAL HIV TESTING
Unsure of your status? What about your partner’s status? In conjunction with
World AIDS Day, the San Diego American Indian Health Center will be offering
us a chance to find out and grant us peace of mind. Oraquick HIV testing will take
place at Walgreens in North Park—3222 University Avenue. Get your results in
only 20 minutes. Stop by on Saturday, December 5 for the first of many such
testing sessions. It will repeat the first Saturday of every month.
HIV/AIDS LEARNING CENTER RIBBON CUTTING
Recent funding cuts to HIV/AIDS education and support services have dam-
aged the San Diego region’s ability to provide services to people living with HIV. In
an effort to revive these desperately needed services, Being Alive has partnered
with Mom’s Priority Pharmacy to create the new HIV/AIDS Learning Center.
At 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 8, Being Alive and Mom’s Priority Phar-
macy will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new HIV/AIDS Learning Center—a
collaborative project between the nonprofit and business. Access to information,
one-on-one counseling, treatment education, testing services, public advocacy
and social interaction will be only a few of the resources available to the com-
munity through the newly expanded section of the pharmacy. cheer while honoring someone on the “nice” side of your gift list.
