A Truly Unique Dining Experience In Old Town Clovis

There is a very special place in Clovis where customers are greeted by smiling faces dressed in costumes and hats
reminiscent of the grand Victorian era. Men and women alike are treated to a trip ‘back in time’ to an elegant age with
modern food and beverage offerings in a surrounding that is so exquisite that it almost defies an adequate descrip-
tion.
“Clovis has so much more to offer than the Rodeo. I think there are more yuppies here now than cowboys” says Elaine
Loperena, Proprietor of the Victoria Rose Cottage. She is very proud of her unique establishment, and rightly so. She
and her husband, Larry, both restaurant industry veterans, recently spent 2-1/2 years renovating the building at 356
Pollasky. Elaine worked with a decorator but she was the driving force behind the look and feel of the Victoria Rose.
“It is the prettiest restaurant in the valley!” Elaine claims with a confident smile. Her
customers agree. In addition to the daily business men and women who enjoy the daily
lunch menu, they often have customers who routinely come in from as far as Los Ange-
les, and travel and tour groups who have come in from as far as Colorado!
It is also common for them to receive cards and letters from customers with praise
from their visit and thanks for being such a fabulous place. You cannot help but feel
embraced by the charm and warmth that surround you there. At his time of year, if you
look carefully through the various rooms, you can find five small Christmas trees and
twelve partridges in a pear tree!
All the sandwiches, soups, salads, salad dressings and deserts are made from scratch. Jim Roberts and Frances Dozier
(she is the one with the British accent) have put their experience and passion to task and consistently provide an out-
standing menu selection for entrees, deserts and scones.
