Prepare Now for Winter
Blitz in January
T
he Exercise and Conditioning
Committee sponsors the annual
Winter Blitz again in the new year. This
month-long event runs Monday, Jan. 11
through Sunday, Feb. 7, and encourages
participants to start up their workout
routine after the holiday season.
Members can participate either individ-
ually or on a team of two, and choose from
a variety of exercises including weights,
cardio machines and swimming.

Swim Teams Celebrate
with Fun Competition
E
ach year, the Multnomah Athletic
Club swim team celebrates the holi-
days with a fun holiday swim meet and
dinner, with exciting events for everyone.
This year’s annual Red and White Meet is
Saturday, Dec. 19.
The swim team and their coaches are
divided into two teams: the red team and
the white team. The meet begins with
the family relay: moms, dads, siblings
or cousins can join in. It is fun to watch
parents and siblings swim, and of course
the swim team youngsters love to out-swim
their parents.
The athletes swim five individual
events. Staff carefully keeps track of the
points but it all comes down to the ulti-
mate, final relay. The final relay consists
of everyone on the red team racing against
everyone on the white team. It is a fun
bonding experience to see the senior
swimmers as well as the new swimmers all
working together and encouraging each
other to do their best.
