98,000 people in Suffolk are Family Carers. By 2010 one in five
of us will be an unpaid Family Carer. The evening will be
packed with surprises including food and drink tastings, a
Christmas Wish Tree and an auction of celebrity signed
Christmas Baubles."

Trading Standards officers get
accredited
Trading Standards officers have become the latest members
of the extended policing family, thanks to the Community
Safety Accreditation Scheme.
All field officers have signed up to the scheme, which allows
employees of organisations to be granted selected policing
powers by Suffolk Constabulary's Chief Constable.
Councillor Rae Leighton, Portfolio Holder for Public Protection
said; "Trading Standards officers work very hard to protect the
people of Suffolk. Now their responsibility has been extended
to help address issues such as anti social behaviour and they
will also have the power to seize alcohol from those who are
under 18 or buying it on their behalf.
"This accreditation provides our officers with the resources to
deal effectively with these issues throughout the county if
needed."
