FILM INDUSTRY


Performing Arts


BTEC First Diploma Level 2 Specialist units such as dance, singing and drama with practical hands-on training and many performances. ATTENDANCE: 1 year. ENTRY: Minimum 4 GCSEs at grade D – G with an interest in Performing Arts.


Performing Arts


BTEC National Diploma Level 3 Practical work develops skills such as singing, dancing and acting, stagecraft techniques, in addition to business and performance history. ATTENDANCE: 1 – 2 years. ENTRY: 4 GCSEs at C or BTEC First Diploma with merit profile. Candidates will need to attend an audition and will be expected to perform a short monologue, song or dance.


Music


BTEC First Diploma Level 2 Specialist Pathways in music with practical hands- on training and many performances. ATTENDANCE: 1 year. ENTRY: Minimum 4 GCSEs at grade D – G. This course also requires some basic ability on an instrument.


Creative Music


BTEC National Diploma Level 3 Giving an insight into the music industry, this practical course presents work related challenges. ATTENDANCE: 2 years. ENTRY: 4 GCSEs at C (preferably including music), or merit profile at First Diploma Level. Candidates will be required to perform at an audition, normally at grade 5 standard or equivalent on an instrument. Musicians with considerable practical experience but without instrumental qualifications should also apply.

NCFE Certificate in Performance skills Dance, Singing, Music Level 1 and 2


These qualifications provide an exciting opportunity for a wide variety of candidates to develop practical dance/singing skills or music. They also provide an opportunity to gain an introduction into the performing industry. Level 1 is designed for learners who wish to develop performance skills and have little or no experience, and wish to make a first step in developing knowledge. Level 2 takes learning further and will help increase confidence and performance skills in the specialist areas of dance, singing or music. ATTENDANCE: 3 hours per week for 30 weeks. ENTRY: Level 1 – an interest in dance. Level 2 – Level 1 or previous dance/ performance experience.
